The Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) act was devised as a safeguard against fraud and ensures corporate disclosures are accurate, and every company that trades in the US stock exchange must abide by its rules and be audited based on its requirements and set deadlines. Therefore this role is absolutely crucial for the company, and you will be adding a lot of value with your work! You will also get to be involved in meetings with internal high-level stakeholders, the EU SOX compliance teams and external audit companies. There is also already a planned career route for you: you will eventually be able to hire and manage someone while you move on to coordinate and oversee the process. There are also plans to eventually build an internal audit team, which you would be well placed to be considered for. We're Offering: A salary between £35 and 45k Clear development opportunities and career progression routes Access to staff discounts on car-related products they sell, as well as a portal with discounts for numerous high-street retailers Access to a training portal full of courses for your personal development Person Brief: You must have an analytical and systematic mindset, with an exceptional attention to detail This may be a data, admin and auditing role but this doesn't make it any less of a "people relations" role: you must be a confident and assertive communicator who can build relationships with and manage stakeholders - to the highest level, internal and external Advanced Excel skills: vlookups, pivot tables, etc Ideally you will have experience of working with ERP systems such as MS D365, KCS K8 and MAM Autopart - transferable experience with other software is also welcome. Different professional backgrounds may suit this career path: if you haven't done SOX compliance, you might for example have a successful background in auditing, accountancy, purchase ledgers, sales ledgers, etc. Responsibilities Overview: To prepare and present monthly, quarterly, & annual SOX control documentation adhering to full SOX compliance. Distribute controls to appropriate managers and request prompt return. Ensure that controls have been followed correctly before presenting for final sign off. Upload completed controls to appropriate systems Review processes and introduce improvements Attend meetings with internal and external audit teams Daily Duties: Extracting evidence from different ERP Systems and present to the managers for review and sign off in a timely manner. Pursuing managers for the return of their signed controls. Maintaining appropriate documentation on the progress of each control. Uploading completed controls to SharePoint site. Dealing with enquires from internal and external auditors. Attending meetings with European and US audit teams via MS Teams. Maintaining data within ERP systems relevant to SOX controls. Maintaining and building relationships with 3rd party IT suppliers. Maintaining and building relationships internal finance SOX team Maintaining and building relationships external auditors. Maintaining and building relationships with managers and IT team
