SimX Ltd. is a consultancy and world-class research company specialising in modelling and simulation of Production Systems (including Advanced Robotics-based and Vision Systems), Resource Management and Process Planning in a wide variety of areas in the Manufacturing and Service Industry. We provide a cost effective service to UK and European companies by using leading edge technology in the fields of Digital Manufacturing, Virtual Factory and Process Simulation, whether this is in the form of consultancy, software supply or research projects. By developing and supplying also CAD products implementing the latest parametric technology technique and knowledge-based manufacturing management software we aim at providing a one stop shop for software and service requirements for PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
Our background knowledge is represented by 40 years cumulative experience in Robotics, Manufacturing and Automation. Modelling and simulation of robotic systems and industrial processes have always been a consistent part of the professional career of SimX personnel, as both end users of digital manufacturing and virtual factory tools and designers/developers of novel ones. The opportunity of viewing factory modelling and simulation from different perspectives (as both users and developers) and the continuous connection with industrial customers who ask for SimX services give us unique skills in understanding the needs of end-users of virtual factory tools and translating them into effective solutions. Through our IT platforms and expertise in using Discrete Event Software we can easily identify problems of existing manufacturing processes/services and contribute straightforwardly in the design and optimisation of new ones. This happens also through the exploitation and transfer of new technologies which widen the application fields of modelling and simulation tools beyond the manufacturing sector towards the service industry. SimX's mission is to help companies through our consultancy service but also research and develop new factory simulation techniques and PLM tools which will ensure that SimX keeps on providing cutting edge solutions to customers. To achieve this goal SimX is involved in a range of different R&D projects. These include TSB (Technology Strategy Board), European Framework Projects, self funded research and commercial funded research. SimX is a licensed developer for PhysX from AGEIA/NVIDIA and registered developer for NVIDIA CUDA technology and have used PhysX extensively in Industrial Research Projects. SimX supplies and/or supports a range of cost effective software packages within the PLM "swoosh". Visual Components is a Discrete Event Engine-based simulation software which has been proved very effective to solve real world problems in all application areas where 3D visualization/simulation tools can provide more realistic and, as a consequence, more reliable results.
SimX also provides Polytrans from Okino, Canada and the range of CAD translation tools from Sycode, India.
